The Myth of Full Potential
I saw a video the other day. Palm trees, white linen, slow-motion smiles.
A voice whispered: Create a new life and unlock your full potential.
I laughed. Then I rolled my eyes. Then, somewhere between cynicism and sadness, I felt that old sting again. The one that comes when we humans try to sell transcendence.
Years ago, I used to work at one of those places. A luxury retreat center promising miracles and rebirth.
A Message From the In-Between
There are a few strange, quiet moments in life when you’re no longer who you were, but not yet who you’re going to be. That in-between space where the old version of you has fallen away, but the new one hasn’t landed yet. We’re in that space. Some of it is personal — letting go of relationships, roles, old patterns. Some of it feels collective — like the world is also between stories. And all of it asks for patience, and softness, and the ability to stay present without answers. Maybe you’re there as well. Maybe you’re moving through something invisible and important.
The Cosmic Joke
Separation, lack of trust, lack of compassion, and lack of individuated education. From there grow feelings like loneliness, unworthiness, and a sense of lost-ness, from which derive our modern society’s physical ailments. From these come wars, trash-filled oceans, and deforestation. When I look at this chain of cause and effect I can only come to this one conclusion: The only way out of our dilemma is the way into the heart.
